Finally, finally, FINALLY: It’s hot outside. We’re now in the weather definition of summer, and it’s time to get out on the town.

Why is this important: After a long winter and a very short spring, we are in this limited window of perfect weather. Enjoy it as much as you can.

  • Here are some of our recommendations for a (hopefully) sunny June.

🏊‍♀️ For the swimmer: Minneapolis and St. Paul public pools are open now (although lifeguard shortages continue). You can also rent a private pool yourself for around $75/hour, or enjoy our lakes.

🌳 For nature lovers: Eloise Butler’s Wildflower Garden, Como Zoo and Conservatory and Minnehaha Falls are all free places for the whole family to explore.

🕺 For social: Rock the Garden Music Festival, Stone Arch Bridge Festival, June 16 celebrations and Pride of the Twin Cities are just a few of the big events happening this month.

🍦 For the greedy: It’s ice cream season. stop Unlimited Licking and explore downtown Excelsior, try the brand new boutique Dream creamery in Minneapolis, or get a classic soft-serve at Conny’s Creamy Cone in Saint Paul.

🚘 For the traveler: Hop just across the border and visit Tattersall’s massive “destination distillery” in River Falls, rent your own private treehouse, or take a weekend getaway to a cool AirBnb.
