Downtown Toms River turns into a huge open-air restaurant on Fridays

On an absolutely gorgeous Friday night on the Jersey Shore, downtown Toms River turns into a massive open-air restaurant as Downtown Night Out comes to Washington Street.

Every Friday through August, the Toms River Downtown Business Improvement District hosts the Social Distancing Community Friendly Picnic with restaurants from across the area taking their tables to Washington Street for a night out. outdoor dining with neighbors and friends.

The Toms River Downtown Business Improvement District posted photos of tables set up on their Facebook page that start at the corner of Main and Washington Streets and run the length of the block:

According to the Downtown Toms River Business Improvement District event page for Downtown Night Out on Facebook, you can expect the same thing every Friday by August 28 from 5 to 9 p.m.

They’re encouraging people to go viral at their favorite downtown restaurants to see what their plans are for Friday night and to make reservations in advance, as the weekly event is expected to be popular.
