New Website Launched for Madison Parks, St. Clair

EDWARDSVILLE – The Metro East Park and Recreation District (MEPRD) on Wednesday announced a new website aimed at promoting awareness and use of public parks, trails and recreation opportunities in Madison and St. Clair.

“Metro East Recreation” is a new online service provided by MEPRD focused on promoting recreation in the Metro East. Designed with parks and trail users in mind, the new domain will be MEPRD’s public website for families and recreational individuals who live, work or stay in the East Metro area. Its main website,, will continue to host its grant programs, projects, and organizational information.

Users can explore and learn about recreational opportunities in both counties, from biking and bird watching to playgrounds and pickleball.

“Metro East Recreation” incorporates several popular features people are already familiar with, including its interactive park and trail maps. The site features new features such as a list of local outfitters and stores for each recreational activity, amenity-specific maps, featured parks and trails, and lodging/dining information for visitors planning a trip to the eastern metropolitan area.

MEPRD has over 300 parks and 200 miles of trails. The site will debut at Gateway Outdoor Expo 2022 on April 1-2 at America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis.
