Syracuse, NY – Syracuse University has called off all pre-game outdoor activities before the Orange faces Clemson tonight due to bad weather.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for southwestern Onondaga County. The warning is in place until 5:30 p.m., and severe weather is expected to impact the Syracuse campus. The kick-off of the match is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Earlier in the afternoon, the National Weather Service reported that a severe thunderstorm capable of producing winds of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail was located over Niles, just southeast of Auburn, moving east at 25 mph.

The school traditionally hosts a ‘Cuse on the Quad’ event which includes marching band, food, drinks and games.

While the school has encouraged fans to use outdoor tents for the COVID screening this season, fans can also be screened at the Carrier Dome gates, where overhangs will offer a better chance of staying dry. Fans must be vaccinated or provide proof of a recent negative test.
